In planning this project I had in the back of my mind my own personal experience of climate change and how it affects my life, which being a white middle aged woman living in Norfolk is not much so far. Norfolk however is one of the places which in 50 years time could be swallowed up by the sea, is riddled with semi tidal rivers and Broads and has increasing amounts of coastal erosion so a rise in sea levels could affect it/us/me rather a lot.

Therefore I am always keeping an eye on news stories around these subjects pertaining to my local area.

Last month the village of Geldeston (home to a fantastic remote pub) was severely flooded and I saw incredible drone photos in the local newspaper.

I did some digging and made contact with the photographer Mike Page and after a jolly email exchange he offered me permission to paint from his incredible photos.

Which I have done and I’m glad to say he approves of the painting.

Thanks Mike.
