Description
All Rivers Run to the Sea
oil on ply wood panel
30 x 40 x 0.6cm
unframed
An athropomorphised wave, a plimpsest, covering something else and using the colour of the underpainting to influence the work itself. As with the paint, the same with the subject matter; using the wave to cover the tears.
Painted from a drawing made after a raw experience, the former shadows I’d been drawing came alive in the wave, embodying it entirely.
Oil paint on an unbraced, ply wood panel. Unframed- would require framing to hang on a wall. Image on a wall for illustration purposes only.
