Thank you for buying original art- it means a lot :—-)))
I understand buying original art for your home or business is a big commitment and you might have some specific ideas or queries that you would like answering before you take the plunge.
On this Terms and Conditions page I’ve not only outlined practical issues around buying my work online but I have answered a few questions you may have when considering buying a piece of my artwork- questions about frames, colours, sizes etc. If there is something you would like to ask which I haven’t covered here please use the contact form and I will email you back directly as soon as I can :—-)))
Payment is made via PayPal – don’t worry if you don’t have a PayPal account as you can checkout as a guest and use your credit/debit card in the usual way online. See below for details on refunds via PayPal in both of these instances.
All UK postage is free of charge!
International postage is calculated on the checkout page. I will always use the safest and fastest postage option.
I will post your artwork within 2-3 working days of purchase.
I use Royal Mail, Special Delivery for sending work in the UK as it is the quickest and safest way for artwork to be sent and minimises potential damage. Larger works will be sent via Parcelforce or be hand delivered within the UK. All work will be fully trackable and I will send you your tracking number via email.
International deliveries will be sent via Royal Mail International postage.
Framed artwork, paintings on canvas or wood panels will be wrapped in acid free tissue paper, cushioned with plenty of bubblewrap and double boxed in strong cardboard to minimise the risk of damage in the post.
Unmounted and unframed works on paper, including prints, will be lovingly wrapped in acid free tissue paper and carefully rolled in a tube. Please contact me if you would prefer them posted flat.
The safe delivery of artwork is largely due to the quality of the packaging. My experience of sending work through the post, in my previous job as a gallery manager, is invaluable in this area and I am fastidious about substantial, strong packaging, plenty of cushioning and double boxing artwork ( a box packed within a box ) for ultimate protection.
However sometimes damage still occurs in the post. Please contact me in this instance and arrange a return. In the event of damage occurring in the post I will pay for your return postage with no question. Please use the original packaging.
View the Statutory Returns Policy for online sales which is the legal requirement for all online sales.
A full no quibble refund will be offered to customers within 14 days of receiving your artwork should you decide it is not for you. You will then have another 14 days to return the goods to me. Please contact me for a return address and use the original packaging in the event of a return to minimise the risk of damage. Thank you.
*Framed artwork may contain sheet glass- I would advise I take out the glass for international postage to minimise risk of damage and to ensure the artwork is insured. If you prefer it to be left in please let me know- damage incurred will be at your own risk and the artwork will not be refunded or replaced in this instance. Picture glass is not expensive and can be easily replaced by a reputable framer for a small amount – original artwork cannot be replaced! This possible extra cost cost is already taken into account in my prices.
Return postage must be paid for by the buyer.
I will refund you of the full cost and original postage cost within 14 days of receiving the returned artwork in the condition it was sent.
If you paid using a credit card without logging in to a PayPal account (in other words, if you used PayPal Guest Checkout), the refund will go back to your credit or debit card. It can take up to 30 days for the refund to show up on your card statement.
If you paid by logging into Paypal the refund will go straight back into your Paypal account.
If I am away I will post a notice on my shop page with my return date.
Orders can still be placed during this time and will be posted within 2-3 working days of my return.
If you should require to return an artwork during away mode please email me and I will arrange the return as soon as I am back and the 14 days will not apply in this case.
I take great care to publish good clear photos of each artwork, with some detail photos and the frame if there is one but if you would like to see more please get in touch and I will email them to you directly. I make every effort to show the colours true to the artwork itself, however your monitor/laptop/phone/tablet may show the colours slightly differently from mine. This is unavoidable but the difference will be only slight and if you’d like a verbal description of the colours just let me know and I’ll give it a go!
I have shown photos of some work ‘in situ’. If there is an artwork which doesn’t show an example of it hanging on a wall just let me know and I will take one for you. Hey, you can send me a picture of your wall if you like and I will ‘transplant’ the painting in place using the mighty photoshop – then you can really see what you think!
Please use the contact form and I will provide you with an email address for this.
Frames and unframed work
Any work listed as framed can be bought unframed on request and I will discount works accordingly. I understand the frames I have used might not be to your taste so please just ask me via the contact form and I’ll be happy to help you with your questions, requests or concerns.
I have all my work professionally framed, and they are taped in at the back and strung with D- rings and strong cord for hanging.
All my work is finished to a high professional standard, neat, tidy and well presented. If a canvas is unframed it will have neatly painted edges in a neutral colour and be complete with d-rings and cord for hanging. Work on paper will not come with a mount but will be carefully wrapped in acid free tissue paper and ready for framing to your own taste.
Got any other questions?
If you have any concerns, questions, worries, quibbles, likes, dislikes, uncertainties, interest about any of the artwork, frames, postage, payment, editions, originals, photos, materials, etc. etc. please just use the contact form to contact me and I will send a reply email to you directly. I’m more than happy to answer any questions! There are always options and I’m open for discussion and to offer advice, help, information, make changes and hear your opinions. Buying an original artwork is a big commitment and I want you to be fully informed and happy with your choice before you take the plunge!
