Supporting Sanctuary Seekers
I’ve donated a framed charcoal drawing, Tornado, to this very worthy cause, in this current climate it is more important than ever.
The drawing is from 2023 and is framed in dark grey aluminium, and made with willow, liquid and compressed charcoal on Arches paper.
Please read this full description from Norwich City of Sanctuary Arts Stream:
‘Please come to our Art Auction on Friday October 17th 2025 at Norwich City Hall starting at 6.30pm.
The auction is being organised by the Norwich City of Sanctuary Arts Stream to raise money to support work with refugees and asylum seekers in our city, in particular the Sanctuary Ambassadors who work to ensure the voices of sanctuary seekers are heard.
There has been very little publicity about the auction because, unfortunately, recent events meant we were advised not to publicise via social media. So please, if you know people who would like to buy art and support this great cause, share via your networks.
It promises to be a fun evening with a bar and entertainment from The Common Lot and Samia Malik and we are delighted to have received over 80 donations from well established and local up and coming artists. You can view the pre auction digital catalogue here. Please note it’s a live document and will be continue to be added to until October 12th, lot numbers will be allocated on October 13th.
Places at the auction are very limited due to the capacity of the City Hall chamber, tickets cost £6 and you can buy your ticket here which will entitle you to a bidding ‘paddle’ so you can bag some great pieces in the room.
If you are not able to come on the night but are still interested in buying a piece, you can make a pre submission bid by emailing your details and title of the piece to cos.auction.bid@gmail.com.
We hope you can make it on the 17th and please share the invite with anyone you think might like to participate in the auction.’
