Backwater Dream was painted in 2018 after a trip of a lifetime to the region of Kerala in India. After a trip on a country boat around the incredibly beautiful tropical backwaters which I was inspired to paint on my return. I wanted to convey the intensely beautiful experience so I inverted the colours in the painting to give the impression of a dream, while striving to maintain equilibrium. To achieve this I used a limited palette of only four colours.The original painting is now sold.
The original painting measured 120 x 90 cm so this high quality reproduction print is larger than others to give all the details in full. It is professionally printed on beautiful matt Hahnemuhle photo rag paper, with a weight of 310gsm. Giclee is defined as a high quality reproduction print, truest to the colours of the original painting, using the highest quality ink so it will not fade over time.
