The Way We Never Go
oil on wood
50.5 x 76.5 x 2 cm
The Way We Never Go I painted after a walk during snowfall of February 2021. Being in a third lockdown we walked the streets every day and I alway took photos. The snow offered a new perspective on our well trodden walks.
I couldn’t wait to paint the puddles on this country lane, and am always drawn to fir trees, during the snow their darkness is even more inviting. They have the best silhouettes and I like to paint them quickly and roughly, going back to refine their shape in several layers.
Painted on a cradled wood panel with natural wood edges, ready to hang.
