The Lodge by the Park
Carbon, graphite and pastel on Fontaine paper
30 x 40 cm ( 40 x 50 in frame)
Snowfall in Norfolk inspired me to draw as I love the monochromatic effect snow has on the landscape, which in turn lends itself to drawing more than painting. I have passed this tree hundreds of times but it was only when covered in a dusting of snow did I take notice. Evergreen trees are so much more prominent in the winter, as their deciduous counterparts lose their leaves, the evergreens take centre stage. I enjoy their dark silhouettes.
Framed in thin profile dark grey aluminium and neutral mount.
