I Can See The Sea IX
charcoal on Arches watercolour paper, framed
30 x 40 cm
2022
Charcoal drawing made of my own photo of a wave, taken while in the sea. I enjoy the tension of the perspective of being semi-submerged with a high horizon, as if the water could overwhelm, but from this view point you can appreciate the strength and beauty of the sea in all its glory.
Drawn using willow, compressed and liquid charcoal on Arches 300gsm watercolour paper.
Professionally framed in thin profile dark grey aluminium, an off white mount and museum non-reflective glass
